So, one of the advantages of living on the side of a rocky mountain is that when you want some rocks to line a new garden, you have hundreds of them right at your fingertips. Well, right at your fingertips after crawling up and down the side of a cliff and hauling rocks weighing between 15 and 60 pounds. Of course, Gabe did most of the heavy lifting...but even G3 helped by finding small rocks to toss in the pile (read: pulling small rocks from the edge of an existing perrenial bed.)
We also recently had a bunch of wood on the property cut and stacked to use for firewood...of course, this also requires climbing down the mountain, hauling up the logs, and splitting them. Its kind of like we live in the modern version of Little House on the Prairie (or rather, the mountain)...I mean, we even put our toddler to work!
Stay tuned for more progress pictures of the upcoming fence and new garden projects!
